Business Unit Data Collection

Modified on Mon, 30 Jun at 8:32 AM

Business Units organize projects into a logical hierarchy, grouping them based on relationships and access needs. This structure allows you to nest Business Units within each other to reflect organizational layers, but only the lowest level business units can contain projects.

Each Business Unit serves as an access control group, helping manage which users can access specific projects. User permissions are assigned at the Business Unit level.  You have the ability to provide access to all projects for the entire company or limit access by business unit.

There are four levels in the business unit hierarchy - Company, Territory, Subdivision, and Section.

The video below provides examples of how a builder may structure their Business Units.

When setting up Business Units, consider how your teams are structured and which user groups need access to which projects. You can create, update, or reorganize Business Units as your needs evolve.

Please use the attached template to compile the business unit data for your company.  If you have any questions regarding how to structure your business units, please reach out to your onboarding specialist.
